Sciatica Causes and Symptoms
Sciatica (often misspelled as "syatica" or "psyatica") is pain that results from irritation of one of the sciatic nerves (one on the right and one on the left), and includes pain in the hip and buttock area that may extend partially or all the way down the back of the leg to the foot. The sciatic nerves start out as smaller nerve roots that branch off from the lower part of the spine. The component nerve roots come together in the pelvis to form the sciatic nerves. Each sciatic nerve then extends down the back of each thigh and divides into two parts below the knee and the two halves continue down the lower leg to the foot.

The sciatic nerve has a definite pain pattern to it. It is formed by five nerve roots (small nerves exiting the spinal column) from the lower spine. Two nerve roots from the last two Lumbar joints and first three of the sacrum nerve roots (the wedge shaped bone at the base of your spine). These nerve roots combine to form the sciatic nerve.

Sciatica can be a debilitating condition where movement and day to day life is painful. The pain radiates down the leg to the foot if severe, it creates a sickening type pain that affects you emotionally as much as it does physically. Although most of you will have heard the horror stories of how sciatica is caused by disc injuries, spinal stenosis or other major lower back pain issues.

Another thing that can cause sciatic nerve damage is occupations such as truck driving, where you are sitting for long periods of time, and being bounced around at the same time, which puts pressure and stress on the sciatic nerve. Sciatic can also be caused by a herniated lumbar disc, in which case, merely performing sciatica stretches won't help too much, and can in fact in up harming your sciatic nerve further.

Pain can be short-term and sharp, meaning acute; or, it may be dull, throbbing and last a long time, as in chronic pain. Back pain and sciatic nerve pain may also be a combination of sensations, as in acute/chronic back pain or dull/chronic sciatic nerve pain. Everyone who has experienced back pain and sciatica knows there are as many forms and levels of pain as there are days in the year, probably more!

The symptoms of true sciatica are very similar to piriformis syndrome. Both cause pain, tingling, burning, "electrical shock" sensations, and/or numbness down the leg, often all the way to the foot. In addition, both sciatica and piriformis syndrome tend to be at least partially related to biomechanical functional problems in the joints of the back and pelvis and they may even be present simultaneously in the same person, so it an be difficult to tell them apart.

The best way to ease tension off the Piriformis muscle is to both stretch the muscle and to use Acupressure to reduce overall muscle tension. Stretching the muscle involves you lying on your back and pulling your knee towards your opposite shoulder. This stretches the Piriformis muscle; if you don't feel tightness in your buttock then you need to use a different stretch.

Meditation can simplify our lives and help us live in the eternal now. When we enter into real meditation we experience a real sense of peace and joy. To gain access to this inner reality meditation is necessary.

There are all kinds of meditations for raising the consciousness to shape reality like the Kabbalah and remote viewing/influencing. Other esoteric meditations like Transcendental Meditation help the practitioners become "siddhis" or accomplished ones, so they accomplish the focused intent of invisibility, levitation or infinite strength, etc.

Prepare your body for meditation

Your physical condition has a tremendous influence on your mind. This is true for your day to day activity, but even more so when it comes to meditation. You can prepare your body for meditation by eating the right food, and by coming to meditation with an empty stomach. Eating the right food, means food which strengthens the body but doesn’t have any adverse affect on the mind. If you consume products that make the mind dull or over-stimulated then it will be much harder to meditate.

Reduce the tension. This might sound harder than it actually is. Basically, try to visualize your tension, to locate it. Is it in your chest, in your legs, in your head? Then you need to focus on pushing down your tension. Push it down more and more, until you eliminate it from your body. At the same time, you need to relax your muscles and to let loose of your contractions. Feel how your body gets lighter, once you pushed away the tension and relaxed your muscles.

Meditation and relaxation go hand in hand and depend on each other, so make sure that you are committed to begin a complex and unite meditation exercises program, a program that is based on a previous relaxation and detachment from worries and problems. But how can you make sure that you reach the needed level of relaxation? Well, first of all, you need to be surrounded by a welcoming, appealing and intimate decor that can permit you relax and meditate.

The main thing that needs to be known when correlating meditation, relaxation and stress is the fact that in order to reduce stress, we have to work, through stress meditation and relaxation methods, on a wide range of pother disturbing problems that come along with stress or that are implied by stress. Like what problems? Well, anxiety, frustration and even depression can be a result of stress or can amplify the effects of stress.

Once you have started to meditate, make sure you practice your meditation technique every day or at least every other day and make sure you follow the above tips, in order to get to the desired results. Remember that meditation is a key to a better health, a better sleep, a better focus and, in general, to a better life, so those 10 minutes every day are worth it!

Eating Disorder Information and Types
Eating disorders are determined as long term illnesses that also require long term treatment. This disorder can occur frequently and can be a result of other illnesses such as substance abuse, depression and anxiety. The sooner that this disorder is diagnosed that better it is for the treatment of the same. It has been known through research that most of the people who are affected with this disorder are women in the age bracket of 12 to 25. However, recent studies indicate that men too are prone to the disorder and are getting affected in large numbers.

Eating Disorder sufferers are male and female alike. We are of all ethnicity's, religions, and economic backgrounds. We are of all ages, with very different body structures. We can look normal on the outside and yet be suffering terribly on the inside. Genetics, Psychology, and Media all influence the onset of an eating disorder. Once we get caught in the cycle, some days it seems as though we will never break free. We constantly beat ourselves up, every moment of every hour of every day. If we could just be perfect in some way then we would be ok. It is easier to stand alone, free from the rejection, and disappointment of others. In our loneliness we listen to the constant torment inside our heads.

Emotional hunger is the main cause of binge eating. According to some findings, more than 50% of binge eaters suffer from some form of depression. Generally, sufferers are victims of overwhelming emotional pain. Stress, boredom, anger, jealousy, pain and fear trigger episodes of overeating in some people. People with low self-esteem, disturbed childhood histories and lonely lives are most vulnerable to binging. What makes binge eating so formidable is the pattern it creates in the life of the individual.

You may make a decision to be on a strict diet to lose weight. This can predominantly occur after several days of binging. If you restrict food after a while, you may feel very deprived. The urge for a treat may come over you. If you have a history of binge eating disorder, giving in to a treat may cause disappointment and self-loathing. You may feel so disgusted with yourself that you start to binge again.

Gentle Eating - Begin your meal by closing your eyes and breathing slowly, noticing how you are feeling, Sad, Mad or glad? Locate your hunger on a scale of 1-10. One being starved and ten being stuffed. Spend 15 minutes in silence and put your fork down after each bite. When 15 minutes is completed, take time to stretch and breathe, locate your hunger again and then finish your meal.

Migraine Symptoms, Types and Home Remedies
The migraine headache is one of the worst headaches known to mankind. These headaches render the afflicted completely debilitated until the pain and migraine headache symptom or symptoms pass. Even then the person will need time to recover as dealing with severe pain, which is only one migraine headache symptom, is very exhausting.

The pain of a migraine headache is one of the most excruciating pains that can be felt. A migraine headache is different from a tension headache both in its cause and severity - often intensely throbbing and one-sided. Migraines affect approximately 8% of the Canadian population, females three times more frequently than males, and can cause huge losses in time spent away from work and pleasure.

While most people only think about the piercing pain in their head that they experience during a migraine attack, there are quite a few associated symptoms. Some of these symptoms can occur before the headache begins and are used as warning signs by people who suffer from frequent migraines. If you have symptoms before your headache begins, you probably have classic migraines. These warning signs are often called auras. If you don't have any symptoms before the migraine begins, you are most likely suffering from common migraines.

Unilateral headache

The intense throbbing pain of a migraine headache is unlike the pain associated with a regular headache. The pain is most often associated with one side of the head and will regularly change to the other side with the next migraine. If the pain is always concentrated in the same place each time you should alert your doctor as this may signal a more serious problem.

Nausea or vomiting

Often combined with light sensitivity, nausea or vomiting may occur as a result of over stimulation. You may begin to feel hot and woozy. You may have trouble driving or riding in a car. The nausea may also be brought on by the intense pain of the migraine headache itself.

Migraine Types

Exertion Migraines are over more quickly than most types of migraines. You can develop one of these migraines if you overextend yourself while you are exercising and develop dehydration at the same time, if you lift something heavy, if you have a sneezing fit, or even if you bend over.

Retinal Migraines are migraines that cause you to temporarily lose vision in an eye. You will probably lose vision before the head pain actually begins.

Herbal remedies are also being used effectively for migraine prevention. Butterbur and feverfew seem particularly helpful.

Butterbur is a shrub-like plant that grows in northern Asia, Europe, and parts of North America. Butterbur extracts are used to treat migraines. Several studies indicate that butterbur is good for migraine prevention. In the largest of these studies, 245 migraineurs took either butterbur extract or a placebo. After four months of treatment, butterbur was more effective than the placebo for migraine prevention.

Lavender can be used for headaches, migraines and sore muscle relief. Lavender eases joint stiffness and helps us cope with chronic pain. Interestingly enough, lavender has antiseptic qualities and even repels insects naturally.
